Makeover June 22-27, 2009

The CAPE website is getting a makeover.  During the week of June 22-27 this site will be in a strange state of undress, becoming progressively more presentable as the week wears on.  I hope it doesn’t cause anyone undue stress.  Enjoy your glorious summer.

Greater Yakima Valley Homeschoolers on Facebook

If you’re on Facebook, you might want to add the Greater Yakima Valley Homeschoolers to your page.  Local Christian homeschooler Autumn Torres started the group as a way to connect with area homeschoolers online.  The front page states that the group is

A group for networking and sharing ideas and information about homeschooling, also a great way to share about upcoming events. You do not have to currently be homeschooling to join.
She hosts monthly mom’s night out at Starbucks, and there’s a lively discussion board.

She offers a Parent Qualifying course at Perry Technical Institute in August.  The course fee is $80.  To register call 248-6388

Washington’s homeschool law is fairly easy to navigate.

We recommend you read the Washington Homeschool Organization’s page about the history of the homeschooling law in Washington and how to comply.
